The Level 4 Diploma in Facilities Management is an occupational qualification designed to prepare learners for management roles in the facilities management sector. The programme develops practical, theoretical and technical knowledge for managing facilities, buildings, property services and workplace operations, and for addressing complex, non-routine workplace problems.
Learners develop competence across facilities management practice, legislation and regulatory compliance, risk assessment, sustainability, leadership, contractor management, procurement, energy and utilities management, and estates planning. Assessment is portfolio-based and draws on workplace and applied activities throughout the programme.

Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence. Learners demonstrate knowledge and occupational competence through workplace evidence, practical activities, case-based tasks, plans, reports, reflective evidence, records, evaluations and other appropriate assessment methods.
Portfolio development is integrated throughout the programme rather than left until the end. Learners are expected to gather and develop evidence as each unit progresses.
The qualification has no mandatory minimum entry requirement. However, applicants should ideally have relevant experience in facilities management, property, building services, maintenance, administration, operations, health and safety, estates, procurement or a related field.
The awarding organisation recommends prior achievement of an appropriate facilities management qualification where applicable. Applicants with relevant workplace experience may also be considered.
The diploma prepares learners for management and supervisory responsibilities across facilities operations, service delivery, compliance, health and safety, contractor management, procurement, project management, budgeting and estates planning. It can also support progression to higher-level study and broader facilities, property and operations management roles.
Build practical competence in compliance, risk, leadership, procurement, contracts, estates planning and facilities service delivery.
