Corporate Training Courses

The Caribbean Polytechnic Institute (CAPTECH) was established in 2003 by its parent company and consulting arm, Sustainable Alternatives Limited (SAL). SAL has been existence for over eight years and its quiet success in teaching and training led the organization to expand its potential by establishing CAPTECH. CAPTECH is registered by the Ministry of education as a post-secondary institution of continuing education. The method of delivering learning is not limited to traditional face-to-face format but include both blended and online learning.

To provide quality technical, vocational and higher education opportunities that meet the dynamic needs of the Jamaican and regional workforce. It accomplishes this by emphasising:

Caribbean Polytechnic Institute has proven excellence its ability to create strategic alliances with local and international educational organizations and affiliates. The institute has gained international recognition from leading qualifications bodies located in the United Kingdom, namely, the University of Cambridge International Examinations, City and Guilds, Edexcel, and the Institution of Legal Executives (ILEX). The institution has entered into formal agreements with leading e-learning solutions providers Element K, JER-Online and Gatlin International offer flexible accredited online courseware. At the local level Caribbean Polytechnic Institute has inherited the goodwill of its parent company’s collaborations with the following government agencies and educational institutions: The Jamaica Bureau of Standards, The Food Storage and Prevention of Infestation Division, the College of Agriculture Science and Education (Faculty of Science) and the National Council for Technical Vocational and Educational Training.

Caribbean Polytechnic Institute offers students a holistic learning experience which emphasises broad based vocational, educational and technical training equipping them with life skills and relevant knowledge that can keep them in good stead as they join the workforce. CAPTECH offers the traditional face-to-face delivery of classroom instructions which lead to the award of certificates, diplomas and post graduate diplomas. Also in the offering is over 3000 instructor led and self-directed automated and turnkey online courses that can be activated with a single line of HTML on a website. Most of the courses within the library of online courseware clearly map to popular certifications, therefore, allowing individuals to prepare for the skills necessary to pass certification exams and effectively utilize the skills learned. Some of the online are used to enhance the face to face programmes thus serving as a value added to learning process as a whole. Many of the programmes on offer may be customized to meet the needs of organisations and educational institutions.

Blended Learning

Blended learning is a mixture of the various learning strategies and delivery methods that will optimize the learning experience of the user. Classroom training sessions, Computer-Based Training (CBT) via a CD-ROM, Web-Based Training (WBT) can be combined to enhance the effectiveness of the training. WBT can be on demand or at a specific time with an instructor and other students involved. At Caribbean Polytechnic Institute we offer face-to-face tutorials utilising e-books and other courseware designed specifically for the particular course or programme.
